Medium deep ruby colour, rich and pure aroma resembling dark cherry, Marasca cherry, bilberry, plum and blackberry, softly embraced by the rich aroma of vanilla, oak and smoke tones, forest brushwood, mushrooms and black pepper.
Dry, fresh wine with soft, distinguishing tannin, with elegant and full body. Highlighted tastes of dark berries, Marasca cherry, sweet spice and smoky tones. It leaves a very harmonic taste with a complexity of fruit tones and harmonised components.

From vines of around 20 - 45 years of age located in the Breg Cru and from the blocks on Marl soil. Fermentation in contact with skins of berries (maceration) for 14 days in 3,000 litre conical oak barrel (tino); without selected yeasts. Softly pressed with pneumatic pressure. 27 months in 225 litre French oak barrels (barrique), up to 30 % new barrels with one year in bottle.

The Slovenian region of Brda lies immediately to the east of Italy’s Collio region. The two denominations, in reality, comprise one contiguous quality wine zone whose terroir is rudely bisected by an international border. Today many winemakers and grapes cross the border in both directions on short journeys from vineyard to cellar. The Simcic family trace their wine making story in the region back to 1860. Marjan is unfaltering in his efforts - in vineyard and winery - to respect the historic traditions of the region whilst crafting wines that progress and develop each and every vintage. The vineyards are farmed organically, following many biodynamic principles yields are kept low and only natural yeasts are used.
