L’Hereu Blanc de Blancs is the estates 'calling-card' sparkling wine marked by the authenticity of its origin, Vinya del Llac, a vineyard more than 40 years old providing complexity and structure and the vineyards of la Barbera, Plana and el Viader, brings freshness and elegance. The grapes enter the winery by gravity. At each stage, the atmosphere
is controlled by dry ice. Slow pressing at low pressures.Static sedimentation at low temperatures. First fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Assemblage and second fermentation in the bottle with a minimum ageing period of 18th months in a horizontal position. Disgorging date stated on the back label.

Raventos i Blanc was founded in 1986 by Josep-Maria Raventos, a member of the Codorníu family who wished to create a small, quality-oriented winery that would stand apart from the large co-ops in the area. Today they own about 300 acres of vineyards (with a high percentage of Chalk in the soil, like Champagne) planted mostly to local varieties such as Macabeo (Viura), Xarel-lo and Parellada. Current proprietor, Pepe Raventos, places high importance on the health of the vineyard environment creating a biosynergy where the animals, the vines, the soil and the people work together as an agricultural unit. The estate reached its certified organic status in 2012 and biodynamic practises are followed throughout their vineyards.

As of 2013, Raventos i Blanc are no longer part of the Cava DO and have started the process of creating a new, terroir driven appellation, Conca del Riu Anoia. The decision to leave the DO stemmed out of the desire to set a standard in high quality wine production where rules such as the use of only indigenous grapes, ecological viticulture, estate produced and estate bottled fruit and minimum ageing requirements apply.
