The Mull of Oa is the most untamed part of Islay. Situated on the south west corner of the isalnd, the Mull of Oa cliffs tower over the Atlantic Ocean. It's a place where storm meets calm. The jutting cliffs are battered by storms and Atlantic waves on one side, and shelter the souther coast of Islay on the other.
In Ardbeg An Oa the contrasts continue creating a whisky that is incredibly complex, yet singularly rounded, with 3 cask types married together.

Pedro Ximnez casks deliver sweetness
Virgin charred oak casks bring spiciness
Ex-bourbon casks in high proportion give an even more intense hallmark Ardbeg flavour profile.

These casks are brought together in out Gathering Room, newly-created at the distillery, in a specially designed gathering vat.
This results in a smoky, sweet and singularly rounded whisky; with all the power and intensity of Ardbeg wrapped in an alluring silkiness, at 46.6% and non chill-filtered.
