Late winter in the vineyards. Time to prune back and trim last year's growth, concentrating the vine's energy into only the most promising  buds. For  us the  beginning of  the year can be a time of cut backs too, whether shedding lbs or saving £'s after  Festive excess! Luckily WoodWinters has put together a case of organic wines, well-priced, and with your well-being in mind!

Chenin Blanc, 2017, False Bay, Swartland, South Africa
Tasting note: Wild yeast fermentation is key to this benchmark Chenin Blanc. The long wild yeast ferment provides bready aromas and additional complexity to the wine. A creamy lemon character, with a hint of fennel.
Serving Suggestions: Perfect with our seasonal shellfish. Matches well with herb roast chicken.

Organic Novas Riesling, 2016, Emiliana, Bio-Bio Valley, Chile
Tasting note: Quietly complex on the nose with fresh lime notes combining with a steely minerality and gentle honeysuckle flora. The palate is mid-weight and off-dry with persistent
flavours of lime, there is a natural salinity which gives contrast yet lovely balance. It finishes clean with a lingering flinty character.
Serving Suggestions: Great with healthy Asian inspired dishes.

Bio-dynamic Gruner Veltliner, 2016, Sepp Moser, Niederosterreich, Austria
Tasting Note: Delicate aromas of honey, apricot and white spice. On the palate stone fruit flavours and white pepper lead to a gently textured, mineral and citrus finish.
Serving suggestions:  A really adaptable white at the dinner table, ‘sings a good solo song’ on the sofa.

Organic Adobe Cabernet Sauvignon, 2016, Emiliana, Casablanca Valley, Chile
Tasting Note: Attractive aromas of black currant and crunchy red fruit accompanied by notes spice. The palate is concentrated and very smooth with great crunchy red fruit character. The tannins are ripe and provide welcome grip and combined delicious acidity, leads to a balanced finish.
Serving Suggestions: Matches well with pasta and a rich Bolognese sauce

Vino Ecologico Rioja, 2015, Ontanon, Rioja, Spain
Tasting Note:  Bright cherry and raspberry aromas balanced by sweet spice. The palate is structured with complex, ripe red fruit, clove and black pepper characters. Poised and well-balanced with fresh acidity and a touch of mocha on the long finish.
Serving Suggestions:  Perfect with Lamb for Sunday lunch.

Organic Monastrel ‘Honoro Vera’, 2016, Juan Gil, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note:   100% organic fruit and no oak. Complex nose of ripe plums and rich red fruit, combined with liquorice and fig characters. On the palate the wine is generous, rich and spicy - weighty with a good concentration of red and black fruit flavours, fine tannins, and fresh acidity on the finish.
Serving Suggestion:  By the fireside on a cold winters night.
