The Budbreak Collection 2018

Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Karu, Central Valley, Chile
Tasting Note:  Crisp, fresh, zesty. Hints of pineapple and nettle on the nose. Lime, grapefruit, pineapple, and peach on the palate.
Serving Suggestions: Ideal as an aperitif or with AllanWater Cafe fish and chips.

Pinot Grigio 2016, Gregoris, Veneto, Italy
Tasting Note: Antonio Fattori really knows how to handle his white grapes – originally a Soave producer, he planted Pinot Grigio long before it became fashionable and continues to produce probably the best example even now. Fresh, ripe white stone fruits on the palate, a hint of sherbet, with a lightly honeyed touch on the finish. Whatever next? Pinot Grigio with true character.
Serving Suggestions: Pair with fish, shellfish or pasta dishes with lightly lemony sauces.

La Fleur Solitaire Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2016, Rhone Valley, France
Grenache Blanc 50%, Viognier 20%, Roussanne 7.5%. Proper white Côtes du Rhône; fresh, medium-bodied, vinous. The nose is pretty and delicate, just hints of hedgerow flowers. The flavours are nuanced and refined rather than overt. Careful use of oak adds texture and vinosity to this very drinkable white.
Serving Suggestions: Try this vegan-friendly-lovely with leek and bulgur wheat gratin with a caramelised onion and cashew milk béchamel.

Nero d’Avola 2015, Feudo Maccari, Sicily, Italy
Tasting Note:  A youthful, unoaked Nero d'Avola from the grape's heartland. Aromas of fresh, bright pure fruit - cherry and berry characters. the palate is fruit forward characters. Ripe, chewy tannins and fresh acidity give plenty of structure too. Approachable, but with depth and complexity.
Serving Suggestions: Great with spicy Italian sausages

Rioja Reserva 2011, Lopez de Haro, Rioja, Spain
Tasting Note:  Ruby red colour with roof tile rim. Powerful on the nose with primary aromas of ripe fruit accompanied by complex spicy and balsamic notes and a slight touch of vanilla. Balanced on the palate, it is a round and unctuous wine with ripe and sweet tannins.
Serving Suggestion: Save it for Sunday Lunch at Easter if you can! It’ll go a treat with your rack of Scottish Spring Lamb.

Shiraz 2017, Soldier’s Block, Victoria, Australia
Tasting Note:  This attractively fruity Shiraz is rich with  flavours of concentrated mulberry and black pepper with a touch of chocolate. There is the additional benefit of elegance and structure on the finish.
Serving Suggestion: Delicious with some perfectly cooked rib-eye brushed with fresh rosemary and our Masia El Altet extra virgin olive oil.
