How does the Coravin System differ from wine preservation systems?
Coravin is a wine access system. Unlike preservation systems, Coravin leaves the cork in place to continue protecting the wine, allowing us to pour from same bottles weeks or months later.
How long will bottles last after accessing them?
Wine remaining in an accessed bottle will continue to age naturally, so we can return to it after months or even years. When stored properly, accessed wine will be indistinguishable from an unopened bottle.
What if I generally finish an entire bottle after opening?
Instead of opening one bottle, access three. The Coravin System gives us the freedom to pour from multiple bottles to compare and contrast regions, varietals, producers, styles and vintages all at once.
Is there any proof that the Coravin System really works?
Blind taste tests have been conducted of bottles previously accessed with the Coravin System against unopened control bottles from the same case with master sommeliers, masters of wine, and winemakers themselves. They have not been able to distinguish between previously accessed bottles and untouched controls. Leading restaurants around the world now trust their wine by the glass program to the Coravin System.
